Total Cambodia and Sipar NGO came to raise awareness of road safety and safe driving among our students. This was an opportunity to remind them of the fundamentals, in a country where road accidents are the leading cause of death.

Total Cambodia and Sipar have joined forces since 2016 to promote road safety throughout the Kingdom. For their campaign "One helmet, one life", the French gas and oil company and the local mobile bookstore stopped by the Sen Sok dormitory for a morning on November 10th, to remind our students of the basic rules of safe driving.

Quizzes, case studies, role plays... All these playful activities allowed our students to remember the rules and good practices while having fun, but also to win helmets, t-shirts and other goodies from Total and Sipar.

Road traffic accidents are the leading cause of deaths and injuries in Cambodia. According to a report conducted by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the National Road Safety Committee (NRSC), more than 2,000 people died on the road  in 2019 and almost 13,700 got injured due to traffic accidents, with an average of 5.4 people dying daily.
