While some people like to rest during their holidays, six students from Chandara Students' Homes decided to take this break at their advantage to study more. From July to September during the next three years, Chheng Munineath, Tith Sreylin, Ruos Sokunthea, Tharn Srey Leak, Rin Sophanith and Kann Sokea will join an Humanities intensive program in French language. After applying and doing interviews, they were all selected to join the Manusastra project - Université des Moussons' program for free, as they are part of the 23 best students in partner universities they study in (Royal University of Fine Arts, Royal University of Phnom Penh and Institute of Foreign Language), when other students have to pay inscription fees from 150 $ to 300 $.

The selected students will have the opportunity to study 4 subjects - History of art/Archeology/History, Anthopology/Ethnology, Linguistics/Epigraphy/Manuscrits, Human/Social sciences as a foreign language - in French . At the end of the program, they will obtain a double degree, a French one conferred by INALCO (National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilisations) and the other by RUFA (Royal University of Fine Arts).  Courses are complemented with interventions by well known Francophone researchers.

The Manusastra project tend to strengthen training and research in the humanities, archaeology, history, art history, ethnology, epigraphy, and linguistics in Cambodia and throughout Southeast Asia, as well as developing the research, in order to expand higher education and to train the next generation to help the growth of the countries. Congratulations to our students: we're proud to see them take part of that project!
